Israel denied entry to largest Latin American aerospace exhibition

The Chilean government has declared that Israeli companies will not be permitted to participate in the Santiago International Aerospace Show, the largest event of its kind in Latin America.

The Chilean Ministry of Defense has not provided any comment on this decision.

It's worth noting that Chile's current President, Gabriel Borich, holds strongly anti-Israeli views. During his election campaign, Borich referred to Israel as a "killer state."

Furthermore, he previously declined a gift of honey from the Jewish community sent for Rosh Hashanah, as a protest against the "occupation of Palestinian lands."

In 2022, he delayed accepting the credentials of the Israeli ambassador to Chile for an extended period.

Then, in November 2023, just three weeks after the Hamas massacre in Israel, Borich announced the recall of the country's ambassador to Israel "for consultation purposes," citing Israel's violation of international humanitarian law in the Gaza Strip.

In January 2024, Chile, along with Mexico, called on the International Criminal Court in The Hague to investigate potential crimes committed during the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
