The Commission for the Promotion of Priority Housing Projects (VATMAL) has approved one of Israel's largest Resettlement-Building projects, allowing protests to be filed.
The project involves demolishing old buildings in the southern part of Lod near the railway and the Delcol factory.
In their place, 6,032 apartments will be constructed in buildings ranging from 6 to 30 floors. Among these, 1,200 apartments will be small-sized (up to 80 sq.m. in area).
Additionally, new public buildings, retail spaces, and offices will be built.
Yoseftal Street will be transformed into a wide boulevard with dedicated lanes for public transport. A public transport terminal will also be established near the freight railway station.
