Defense Ministry, Histadrut improve IDF civilian employee conditions
Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant, along with Chairman of the General Federation of Trade Unions (Histadrut) Arnon Bar-David, Efi Malkin responsible for civil servants' salaries in the Ministry of Finance, Eyal Zamir the Director General of the Ministry of Defense, Itamar Graf the Head of the Planning Department of the Ministry of Defense, Major Yaniv Asor the Head of the IDF Personnel Directorate General, and Meir Ben Harosh the chairman of the IDF workers' organization, have signed a new collective labor agreement. This agreement regulates the working conditions of civilian employees within the Israel Defense Forces.
Around 8,000 civilian employees of the IDF work across operational, technological, and production systems in over 300 different specialties.
The newly signed agreement aims to enhance social conditions and wages, broaden employment opportunities, introduce an innovative employment model in engineering professions, encourage the hiring of new workers, and increase organizational flexibility.
During the signing ceremony, Arnon Bar-David expressed gratitude to the employees, stating, "I see your dedication to the country's security at bases across the nation. You consistently demonstrate professionalism and effectiveness, especially in the past six months since the war began. This agreement reflects our immense appreciation. We will continue to support you, and together we will look forward to brighter days ahead."
