Google fires 28 employees in US anti-Israel protests

Google fired 28 employees who participated in anti-Israel protests at its offices in California, New York, and Seattle last Tuesday, April 16.

During one protest, activist workers, demanding that the corporation cease collaboration with Israel, occupied the office of the director of the cloud technology department for eight hours.

As a result of the protests, police detained nine employees in New York and California.

Previously, Google's press service stated that the protesters were placed on forced leave and had their access to Google systems revoked.

"Physically disrupting the work of fellow employees and blocking office access violates our policies and is entirely unacceptable. Despite repeated calls to vacate the premises, law enforcement was called. Following internal reviews, we decided to terminate the employment of 28 individuals," the statement reads.
