For the sixth year in a row, the news magazine Newsweek and analytical center Statista teamed up to rank the world's best general hospitals. The top ten clinics were selected from 2400 general medical centers in 30 countries this year. Israel's Chaim Sheba Medical Center at Tel HaShomer took the ninth spot in this ranking.

According to the magazine, here are the ten best hospitals in the world.

1. Mayo Clinic, Rochester, USA
2. Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, USA
3. Toronto General Hospital, Toronto, Canada
4. Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, USA
5. Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, USA
6. Charité–Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Berlin, Germany
7. Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset, Stockholm, Sweden
8. AP-HP - Hôpital Universitaire Pitié Salpêtrière, Paris, France

After a one-year hiatus, the Sheba Medical Center has again entered the Top 10 hospitals. The hospital complex comprises 159 medical departments and clinics, 33 laboratories, and four specialized hospitals. The artificial intelligence tool developed by the Aidoc company at Sheba is currently used in more than 1000 hospitals worldwide.

Newsweek notes that in the aftermath of the October 7 attack by Hamas, AI helped to quickly identify emergent issues among the mass casualties entering the hospital and save lives.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog congratulated the hospital staff: "In these challenging times, the staff of Sheba once again demonstrated their professionalism. In many ways, this is an expression of trust in the entire Israeli healthcare system."
