On the evening of December 29, the Gaza Ministry of Health, associated with Hamas, reported that since the commencement of hostilities on October 7, more than 21,500 people have been killed in the Gaza Strip, with over 55,900 injuries. Verification of this information is challenging due to the substantial number of deaths, often resulting in mass burials.

Notably, the Hamas Ministry of Health suggests approximately 200 deaths in Gaza over the past 24 hours, accompanied by an increase of about 300 in the number of wounded. The World Health Organization (WHO) has consistently stressed its inability to confirm or deny the accuracy of data regarding casualties provided by the Gaza Ministry of Health.
