IDF: Up to 8,000 militants eliminated in Gaza
According to Israeli military estimates, nearly 8,000 militants from terrorist groups have been eliminated in the Gaza sector during the two and a half months of war, reports journalist Yossi Yehoshua on the Ynet website.
Within the IDF, it is believed that approximately half of the commanders of Hamas battalions and over half of the Hamas company commanders have been neutralized. However, at the brigade commanders' level, Hamas's losses are not as significant. Additionally, Yahya Sinwar, the head of the Hamas government in Gaza, is still alive.
The publication also includes an assessment from a high-ranking official who suggests that it might take a year of military operations for the complete neutralization of Hamas in Gaza.
The losses of Hezbollah are much less significant, with approximately 120 militants from the Lebanese terrorist organization reported killed.
