Another major tunnel discovered under Gaza City

In the course of a ground operation in the southern part of Gaza City, troops of the Yiftah Brigade and combat engineers targeted the Hamas headquarters in the Issa district. A group of terrorists attempting to attack IDF soldiers was eliminated during the combat.

Several buildings used by terrorists and a military base were destroyed in the Issa area. Later troops of the Paratroopers Brigade uncovered another large Hamas tunnel network stretching hundreds of meters long.

The elite Yahalom combat engineering unit and Oketz arrived to investigate the tunnels and determined that it was one of Hamas's underground outposts with multiple levels. It included command rooms, storage and large resting areas with electricity, communication lines and water.

The IDF spokesperson released a video of the underground passages captured by a camera attached to a dog from the Oketz canine unit.
