Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant was at the Northern Military District headquarters when Said Reza Musavi, a senior commander of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, was killed as a result of an IDF strike on Iranian militants in Syria. This was reported by the Ynet website.
At the situation assessment meeting, the Defense Minister was provided with information regarding the IDF's activities in the border zone, operations aimed at neutralizing Hezbollah militants, and strikes targeting the terrorist infrastructure facilities of the group.
Galant stated that Israel will not allow a repetition of the situation that occurred on the eve of October 7th. 'We are dealing serious blows to Hezbollah, which has lost over 150 individuals and suffered significant damage to the group's assets. Hezbollah militants have been pushed away from the border into the depths of Lebanese territory. Israeli Air Force planes fly freely over Lebanon, and we will not stop there,' said Galant.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps released a statement accusing Israel of the elimination of one of its commanders in Syria, near Damascus.
The IRGC statement said, 'Israel will pay for the killing of one of our senior military advisors in Syria.'
