IDF 36th Division begins "cleansing" the Al-Bureij refugee camp

The IDF's 36th Division soldiers have commenced the destruction of terrorist infrastructure in the Al-Bureij refugee camp, located in the central part of the Gaza Strip, as a decisive measure against terrorist groups operating within Palestinian enclave camps.

The Israeli military's operations are conducted in densely populated areas with extensive infrastructure that have become breeding grounds for Hamas terrorism.

The press service recalls that about a month ago, Ayman Noufal, one of the commanders of the Izaddin al-Qassam Brigades and a member of the General Military Council of Hamas, was liquidated in the center of Gaza. He had the rank of "Brigadier General".

During the first hours of the operation in Al-Bureij, a tunnel shaft leading to an extensive underground terrorist infrastructure was discovered in the refugee camp. Additionally, a Hamas training camp and a stock of weapons and ammunition were discovered.

The commander of the 36th Division, Brigadier General Dado Bar Khalifa, recalled that before this his division “cleared” the Shujaiyya quarter.

According to him, the fighting in Shujaiyya was difficult, but the IDF managed to achieve significant successes. "Shujaiyya will no longer be a terrorist center for Hamas," he said.
