Hamas delegation arrives in Cairo for possible agreement with Israel
Kan 11's Elior Levy reported in the evening news about negotiations in Cairo involving a Hamas delegation.
Sources in the Gaza Strip informed the Israeli channel that the Hamas delegation brought a proposal to Cairo, which had been approved by all Palestinian factions and movements in the sector. However, upon arrival in Egypt, the delegation stated that there would be no deals regarding exchanging hostages and prisoners until a complete ceasefire.
Elior Levy noted that Qatar, also acting as a mediator in negotiations between Hamas and Israel, is interested in a complete cessation of hostilities in the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, Arutz Sheva reported on the evening of January 1 that as a condition for commencing negotiations on the exchange of hostages and prisoners, Hamas demanded that Israel withdraw its troops from the Gaza Strip. Israel rejected the proposal.
