The 646th Brigade, with the assistance of the Yahalom special engineering unit, has concluded an operation in the high-rise district in the center of the Gaza Strip. This area consists of high-rise buildings used by Hamas as terrorist infrastructure.
Within these buildings, Hamas militants had established launch sites, targeting Israeli tanks and fighter jets. Upon inspection of the buildings, rockets, explosive devices, sniper rifles, rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) launchers, and AK-47 rifles were found. Some of the premises were booby-trapped.
IDF also discovered entrances to underground tunnels. During the operation, the army eliminated terrorists and destroyed their underground tunnel shafts and observation posts. A depot and a chemical lab for weapon production were also located near the high-rise district.
