On the night of January 5th, the Israel Defense Forces continued their operations in the Gaza Strip. Overnight, information about the progress of the combat actions was coming only from sources within Gaza.
They reported clashes in Maghazi, located in the center of the sector. IDF tanks were firing at militant positions. It was also reported that the IDF conducted strikes on targets in Nuseirat, in the central part of the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli Navy attacked targets off the coast of Deir al-Balah, in the central part of the Gaza coastline.
Additionally, there were reports of clashes southeast of Khan Yunis and that Israeli artillery was shelling neighborhoods in the center and north of Khan Yunis.
As of now, the IDF has not commented on the combat actions in Gaza on January 5th.
