The terrorists behind the Ra'anana attack had multiple terrorism convictions, yet they were employed at a local car wash.

According to Srugim News, citing journalist Avishai Grinzeig, one of the attackers had been arrested in May the previous year.

During the trial, he claimed to have come to Israel solely to provide for his children due to a lack of job opportunities in the territories.

Despite six previous convictions for terrorist activities, he requested a short sentence to be with his children before the holidays.

The court granted his request, imposing only a 20-day prison term. His accomplice, another relative, had received a nine-day sentence for his third terrorism-related conviction, citing a hand injury and the need for food.

Just over six months after these lenient sentences, they carried out the terrorist attack in Ra'anana, resulting in one woman's death and injuring 18 others.

Their employer at the car wash was arrested.
