Wael Abu Fanuna, the director of the Al-Quds TV channel, was killed in an IDF attack in Gaza City on Thursday, January 18. The news was reported by the Qatari TV channel Al-Jazeera.
Al-Quds TV, affiliated with Hamas, was regarded as an "international" channel. While it claimed to broadcast from Jerusalem (Al-Quds), its offices were situated in Lebanon and Gaza.
In 2018, Israel designated Al-Quds TV as a terrorist organization, with approval from then-Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman. Subsequently, in 2019, Al-Quds TV declared bankruptcy and shuttered its offices in Lebanon and Gaza.
