Former Minister, Professor Amnon Rubinstein dies at 92
On Thursday, January 18, Professor Amnon Rubinstein, a former deputy and minister, passed away at the age of 92.
Professor Rubinstein was the founder of the Shinui party and, in 1992, one of the founders of the Meretz bloc.
Throughout his political career, Rubinstein held various ministerial positions, including Minister of Education, Minister of Science and Technology, Minister of Communications, and Minister of National Infrastructures.
He also served as the dean of the Faculty of Law at Tel Aviv University for ten years.
In 2006, Professor Rubinstein was honored with the Israel Prize for his contributions to research in Jurisprudence.
