Naked Palestinian causes riot at Brisker Yeshiva in Jerusalem
A 24-year-old resident of Hebron, who had a work permit at Jerusalem's Makassed Hospital, was arrested on Saturday night after he illegally entered Jerusalem's Brisker Yeshiva, causing a disturbance that led to a confrontation with police. The yeshiva sustained approximately 16,000 NIS worth of damages.
According to the indictment, the accused entered the yeshiva on Saturday night, undressed, and entered the prayer hall ("beth midrash"), where he began throwing holy books to the ground, destroying wooden furniture, and breaking stained glass lamps, as reported by Kipa. He then proceeded to the kitchen, where he began throwing metal utensils at the yeshiva leader who attempted to neutrilize him.
Upon police arrival, the accused hid in the ventilation system and threw various objects at the officers. He then grabbed a metal rod and charged at the police, but was subdued and arrested after being knocked to the floor. The accused had to be neutralized with a stun gun.
The police have obtained video footage of the incident and collected ample evidence. An indictment has been filed, along with a request to extend the suspect's detention until the completion of legal proceedings.
