'Fauda' actor Idan Amedi, seriously injured fighting in Gaza, to be discharged from hospital tomorrow
Israeli actor and singer Idan Amedi will be discharged from the hospital on Tuesday, January 23. At home, he is expected to start a lengthy rehabilitation process. Before his release, Amedi will hold a press conference with journalists.
Two weeks ago, Idan Amedi sustained severe injuries during his reserve duty in the Gaza Strip. Idan Amedi serves as a reservist fighter in the IDF's engineering unit. After he suffered severe shrapnel injuries, he was airlifted to Sheba Medical Center in Ramat Gan. There, Amedi had to be put in a medically induced coma with a ventilator.
The actor underwent extensive surgery to remove shrapnel from his body, followed by a period of treatment in the hospital. Numerous fans and public figures visited the actor-singer during his hospital stay.
Through Minister Hili Tropper, Amedi thanked everyone who cared about him and asked the Israeli society to avoid division and stay strong together.
Idan Amedi is known, among other things, for his role in the series "Fauda," where he portrayed an undercover agent named Sagi Tzur.
