In its evening news broadcast, Kan-11 reported that Israel is awaiting a response from Hamas regarding its proposal for a new deal, aiming to secure the release of some hostages.
According to the TV channel, negotiations with Hamas have seen progress through the mediation of Qatar. Three political and security sources informed the channel that the Israeli proposal encompasses three key points:
1. Release of Israeli non-military hostages;
2. Ceasefire for a long period of time;
3. Tactical withdrawal of IDF forces from certain areas of the Gaza Strip.
In exchange for this, Israel offers to release a group of terrorists serving sentences in Israeli prisons.
According to the TV channel, Israel anticipates receiving information from Qatar in the coming hours regarding Hamas's response to the proposal. However, it is more likely to occur in two or three days, partly due to the IDF's activity in Khan Yunis.
Quoting its source in the political leadership, Kan-11 stated, "We observe a shift in Hamas's position and maintain optimism. Nevertheless, circumstances can change at any moment."
At 8:30 p.m., a meeting of the "narrow" military cabinet commenced in "Kiriya." The Keshet-12 TV channel reported that the meeting would address, among other things, the forthcoming deal with Hamas.
