Israeli President Isaac Herzog issued a statement regarding the deaths of 21 soldiers in the Gaza Strip.
"On this day, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the families whose worlds crumbled in an instant. Yet, we take immense pride in the generation that dutifully fulfills its mission, remains steadfast in friendships, and is resolute in achieving goals and completing tasks. They remain loyal to love for their people and homeland," stated the head of state.
"Soldiers are facing intense battles in extremely challenging conditions, and our thoughts today are with the military and security forces who are tirelessly working to achieve the objectives at the heart of this war," added Isaac Herzog.
Defense Minister Yoav Galant stated, "This war will determine Israel's future for decades. The fallen, by their sacrifice, have directed us to persist in the fight and find solutions to the challenges of this war. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and wish a speedy recovery to the wounded."
