The Israeli government spokesperson Ilana Stein stated that Israel will not give up on the destruction of Hamas, the return of all the hostages, and there will be no security threat from Gaza towards Israel.
"There will be no ceasefire. In the past there were pauses for humanitarian purposes. That agreement was breached by Hamas," emphasized Stein.
Earlier today, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, speaking at the special session marking 75 years since the establishment of the Knesset, commented on various reports about a possible deal for the release of hostages from Hamas captivity.
"There is and will be no compromise on the existence of our state. We must build our destiny with our own hands," said the head of the government.
