Israel Prison Service to worsen conditions of convicted terrorists

Interim Prison Service Chief Commissioner Kobi Yaakobi intends to worsen conditions for convicted terrorists in Israeli prisons.

According to numerous publications, Yaakobi wants to establish a special cell block where "particularly dangerous terrorists" and leaders of criminal groups will be held.

Yaakobi also plans to subject senior officers and officials within the police to polygraph tests.

According to Yaakobi, tightening conditions for detained terrorists is his top priority. Israel Prison Service officials note that this is a part of National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir's policy.
