IDF strikes targets in the Strip and fights battles in Gaza City

On the night of February 4, the Israel Defense Forces continued operations in the Gaza Strip. Overnight, information about the course of the fighting came exclusively from sources in Gaza.

They reported that IDF artillery hit targets in the center of Khan Yunis, while the Israeli Air Force struck targets in the west of Khan Yunis and the south of the Strip.

There were reports of casualties from an IAF strike on a target in the Al-Salam area in Rafah, in the south of the sector.

The IDF continued its strikes in Nuseirat, in the central part of the sector. The army hit the home of the Masran family in Nuseirat.

Reports also came in of shelling in the west of Gaza City, as well as clashes in the west and center of Gaza City.

The IDF has not yet provided comments on the fighting in Gaza on February 4.

The last alert of a possible rocket attack from Gaza into Israeli territory sounded around 13:26 on February 3. During the current conflict, terrorist groups in the Gaza Strip usually (but not always) cease rocket fire into Israeli territory at night.

The IDF reports that on Saturday, February 3, Sgt. First Class (res.) Shimon Yehoshua Asulin, 24, from Beit Shemesh, a fighter in the 924th Engineering Battalion of the Harel Brigade, was killed in action in the southern Gaza Strip.
