A Palestinian journalist working for Al Jazeera in the Gaza Strip turns out to also be a commander in Hamas's military wing, according to images and documents recovered by the IDF during the ongoing war against the terror group. The evidence was posted on social media platform X by Lt. Col. Avichay Adraee.

IDF spokesperson Colonel Avichay Adraee, responsible for Arabic media outreach, published evidence indicating that one of the correspondents for Al Jazeera in the Gaza Strip was a Hamas fighter who served in an anti-tank unit.

"A few weeks ago, troops found a laptop, which belongs to Mohamed Washah, was found at one of Hamas military bases in the northern Gaza Strip. A resident of the Bureij neighborhood, Washah was born in 1986. He is a "prominent commander" in Hamas's anti-tank missile unit within the Hamas military wing. In late 2022, he began to work in research and development for the terror group's air unit. Washah was a correspondent for the Qatari channel Al Jazeera.

The post included photos found on Washah's laptop. They showed Washah training in the use of anti-tank weapons as well as working with other weapons and a drone. "Who knows how many details we will reveal about the presence of other terrorists in journalistic garb in the near future?" wrote Adraee.
