Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the YAMAM special border police unit on Monday, February 12, where he met with its commander and the fighters who conducted the special operation last night.

The operation successfully freed Fernando Simon Marman and Luis Har Norberto, who were held by Hamas militants in the center of Rafah in the Gaza Strip.

During the visit, Prime Minister Netanyahu stated that he had approved the complex special operation a few days earlier. He closely monitored its progress from the Shin Bet operational command post during the night of the operation.

Commanders and soldiers shared details about the operation's dramatic moments and the coordination among various security forces units.

Prime Minister Netanyahu praised the operation as one of the most successful rescue operations in Israel's history. He expressed pride in the fighters, emphasizing the meticulous planning and execution of the operation despite the risks involved.

Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir, Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister Tzahi Braverman, Head of the National Security Service Tzachi Hanegbi, Inspector General of Police Lieutenant General Yaakov Shabtai, Military Secretary of the Prime Minister Major General Avi Gil, and MAGAV commander General-Major Itzhak Brik accompanied the Prime Minister on the trip.
