Likud MPs urge Netanyahu to pass conscription law

Diaspora Affairs Minister Amichai Chikli, along with Likud MPs Dan Iluz and Moshe Saada, have urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to promptly pass the conscription law.

They argue that the current security situation during the Gaza war demands immediate action to address what they perceive as an unfair distribution of societal burdens.

The deputies are pushing for the law to be implemented initially through an administrative order, followed by a thorough review process.

This week, a conscription bill proposed by the IDF is set to be presented for review. The bill proposes extending the military service period and raising the age limit for reservist soldiers. However, it does not propose any changes regarding the exemption of ultra-Orthodox individuals from conscription into the IDF.
