Qatar: medicines in transfer to Israeli hostages, confirmed by Hamas
Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman, Majid bin Mohammed al-Ansari, announced on Tuesday that Doha has received confirmation from Hamas, regarding the transfer of a shipment of medicines to the Gaza Strip. This shipment is part of an agreement brokered between Israel and Hamas.
Al-Ansari stated to the Qatari news agency QNA that Hamas has initiated the transfer of medicine to Israelis detained in the Gaza Strip.
This statement comes a month after a previous batch of medicines intended for hostages was transported through Egypt to the Gaza Strip. The agreement for the transfer of medicines was facilitated through mediation efforts by Qatar and France.
On February 9, Qatar informed Israel that it had received confirmation from Hamas that the hostages had received the medicines provided to them.
However, Qatar did not provide evidence to substantiate Hamas' fulfillment of its obligations, similar to the previous instance.
