Benny Gantz spoke about the initial signs of progress in negotiations with Hamas. "We will not miss any opportunity to bring our sons and daughters home," he said.
Gantz said the Rafah offensive will begin after the evacuation of civilians from the area. He noted that the operation is necessary to eliminate active militants in the area and demilitarize the Gaza Strip. "I will repeat it again. If there is no agreement on the release of the hostages, we will launch the offensive even during Ramadan," he reiterated.
Benny Gantz also commented on the results of the Knesset vote on the resolution against the unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state.
According to him, after the events of October 7, this would be a "prize" for terrorists. Gantz stated that in the future, Israel seeks to maintain its advantage and the ability to conduct security operations throughout the Gaza Strip. "Our mission is 100% security control, with zero civilian control," he emphasized.
