Qatari TV channel Al Jazeera has reported that an IDF airstrike on a house in Deir al-Balah, located in the central Gaza Strip, resulted in the death of Muhammad Khattab and his family.
According to the Al Jazeera report, Khattab was an international football referee.
Sources in Gaza have confirmed that Muhammad Khattab, along with his wife and four children, lost their lives in the strike.
Muhammad Khattab was indeed a football referee recognized by both the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and the International Football Federation (FIFA).
In 2020, he served as a referee at the Asian and Arab championships. However, he later found himself unable to leave the Gaza Strip.
There is no information suggesting Muhammad Khattab's involvement in terrorist activities.
The IDF and Shin Bet have not commented on the reports of his death by Arab media.
