IDF destroys Hamas leadership tunnel in Khan Yunis

Yahalom Special Operations Forces unit of the Israeli Combat Engineering Corps, along with units from the 98th Division, discovered and destroyed a Hamas leadership tunnel in Khan Yunis. The IDF Spokesperson's Unit says that the battles with the terrorists were conducted underground.

Before entering the tunnel, the military had to breach an armored door and overcome other obstacles set up by the terrorists to stop the IDF forces from entering their underground hideout.

Militants in the tunnel were eliminated underground during the close combat engagement.

The tunnel's length exceeds one kilometer. Its construction cost millions of shekels. It contained kitchens, bedrooms, shower rooms, and toilets. Food supplies were also found.

Military officials point out that this tunnel was part of Hamas's extensive underground infrastructure located beneath Khan Yunis. It was used by the leadership of the terror group and fighters from the Khan Yunis brigade as a shelter and combat operations headquarters.
