At 7:29 am on Thursday, a suspected terrorist attack was reported on the Route 1 highway between Jerusalem and the West Bank's Maaleh Adumim.
Three Palestinian terrorists opened fire with “automatic weapons” at Israelis waiting in traffic while heading toward Jerusalem, a few hundred meters before the az-Za’ayyem checkpoint.
At 7:15, the police said two terrorist were neutalized. Forces are scanning the area for possible additional attackers.
According to the Magen David Adom ambulance service, two of the victims are seriously wounded. Later MDA director Eli Bin told Channel 12 news that one of the victims of the shooting attack has died.
Five people wounded to varying degrees in the shooting terror attack have arrived at the Shaare Zedek Medical Center for treatment.
