IDF continued targeting objectives in Gaza Strip on night of February 22
On the night of February 22, the IDF continued its operations in the Gaza Strip. Information about the ongoing fighting was only available from sources within Gaza.
They reported that overnight, the IDF Air Force and artillery targeted locations in the southern, central, and northern parts of the Gaza Strip, resulting in casualties.
Reports indicated that the IDF Air Force struck the home of the al-Hajj Yusuf family in the Tel al-Sultan area, west of Rafah. The IDF also targeted the Al-Farouq Mosque in the Shaboura refugee camp, as well as several other locations in Rafah. It also conducted strikes in the Al-Janeina area east of Rafah, in the southern part of the Strip.
There were also reports of IDF artillery shelling targeting areas in Khan Yunis, specifically Kizan al-Najjar and Al-Batan al-Samin neighborhoods in the south of the Strip. Fighting was also reported near the European Hospital in Khan Yunis.
The IDF Air Force struck a target in Deir al-Balah, in the central part of the Strip, resulting in four fatalities, including minors.
In addition, reports indicated that the IDF Air Force conducted strikes targeting locations in the northern part of the Gaza Strip. IDF forces attacked two houses in Jabalia.
In Rafah, a protest took place against the Hamas leadership, particularly against Yahya Sinwar. Dozens of people chanted slogans urging Hamas leaders to save "ordinary people" and leave the Gaza Strip before it's "too late" while calling Sinwar a criminal and collaborator.
As of now, the IDF has not provided any comments regarding the military actions in Gaza on February 22.
