18 arrested in scuffles at anti-Netanyahu protest in Tel Aviv

Eighteen people were arrested on Saturday during clashes with police during a massive demonstration against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Protesters marched down Highway 1, which links Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, and blocked the road.

Police used water cannons against anti-government protesters while clashing with them in Tel Aviv.

The police emphasized that the demonstrators causing disturbances were not part of the planned and approved protest action by the police.

The Israel Police spokesperson has called on all demonstration participants to follow police instructions and avoid unnecessary confrontations.
