Lebanese TV channel Al-Mayadeen, owned by Hezbollah, cited a source within the Hamas leadership discussing the progress of negotiations with Israel concerning a ceasefire and a "prisoner exchange."
According to this source, Israel has agreed to increase the number of Palestinian prisoners released in exchange for Israeli hostages.
Originally proposed as one Israeli for three Palestinians, the exchange ratio is now expected to range from three to thirteen individuals.
However, Israel remains steadfast in its refusal to withdraw troops from the sector during the ceasefire.
Additionally, the demand for the return of Gazans expelled from their homes at the initial stage of the deal has been rejected.
The TV channel reports, "Hamas believes that Israel is simply attempting to stall for time, as reaching an agreement with the group could trigger an internal crisis within the government."
