The IDF has announced the death of an IDF soldier. 21-year-old Staff Sgt. Narya Belete was killed in a battle in south Gaza yesterday.
Belete served in the Givati Brigade’s reconnaissance unit. He was from Shavei Shomron in the West Bank.
In addition, an officer and two soldiers in his brigade were seriously injured.
239 soldiers have died since the start of Israel's ground invasion into the Palestinian enclave on October 27.
Overall, 578 IDF servicemembers have died since October 7 during the terrorist attack on the day and the subsequent Operation Swords of Iron.
