The IDF has officially confirmed that on the morning of February 26, air defense forces intercepted a surface-to-air missile fired from Lebanese territory at an Israeli unmanned aircraft, utilizing the David's Sling missile defense system.
Following the launch of an interceptor missile in the area of Alon HaTavor, a rocket fire warning was activated, but no casualties were reported, according to the IDF.
The IDF further reports that militants subsequently fired a second missile at the UAV, successfully downing it. The drone crashed in Lebanon.
The lost UAV is identified as a Hermes 450.
