IDF strikes Hezbollah air defense batteries in Beqaa
The IDF has announced that in response to the downing of the Israeli Hermes 450 UAV, an IDF aircraft has targeted Hezbollah air defense batteries in the Beqaa region of eastern Lebanon, situated tens of kilometers from the Israeli border.
As previously reported, on the morning of February 26th, air defense forces utilized the David's Sling missile defense system to intercept a surface-to-air missile launched from Lebanese territory at an Israeli unmanned aircraft.
Following the launch of an interceptor missile in the vicinity of the Alon Tavor industrial zone, a missile attack warning was triggered. No casualties were reported.
Shortly thereafter, Hezbollah militants fired a second missile at the Hermes 450 UAV, successfully bringing it down. The drone subsequently crashed in Lebanon.
