Shlomi Marchewiak, a paramedic at the Magen David Adom station in Netanya, was driving home after a grueling 12-hour shift when he noticed a dog that had been hit by a car on the road.
Approaching the injured animal, Shlomi administered first aid: he applied a splint to the broken paw, comforted and reassured the dog, and promptly contacted the city veterinarian from the Netanya municipality.
Thanks to the information stored on the chip implanted in the dog, the veterinarian was able to locate the dog's owners, who then took the dog to the veterinary clinic. The heartwarming incident was reported by the MADA press service.
