Gallant: Hamas aims to turn Ramadan into second October 7

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated during a situation assessment meeting that Hamas, supported by Iran and Hezbollah, aims to escalate tensions during Ramadan, likening it to the "October 7 tragedy."

He cautioned that Hamas would exploit any pretext for this, particularly focusing on the situation surrounding the Temple Mount and Jerusalem.

Gallant also criticized unnamed coalition partners, emphasizing that irresponsible statements could trigger a chain reaction during the sensitive Ramadan period.

He urged politicians not to provide Hamas and Iran with excuses and instead to make efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region.
