The IDF has confirmed the deaths of two officers in a battle that took place in the northern Gaza Strip on February 27.
The names of the deceased officers have been released:
Major Iftah Shahar, aged 25, from Paran, serving as the company commander of the 432nd Tsabar battalion of the Givati Brigade.
Captain Itai Seif, aged 24, from Yeruham, serving as the platoon commander of the same battalion.
Additionally, seven soldiers from the 432nd Tsabar Battalion of the Givati Brigade sustained serious injuries in the same battle.
Since October 27, which marks the beginning of the ground operation in Gaza, a total of 242 military personnel have been killed, including casualties in Gaza, near the border with Lebanon, and in Judea and Samaria due to terrorist attacks on Israeli territory.
Furthermore, since October 7, a total of 582 IDF soldiers have lost their lives, including casualties in the Black Saturday terrorist attacks and the war in Gaza.
