Defense Minister Yoav Gallant addressed criticism of his recent press conference during a government meeting.

He reiterated his stance that yeshiva students should contribute to military service and emphasized that the Defense Department wouldn't propose a draft law without consensus among all members of the emergency government.

"I regret to disappoint some of you, but I am firmly committed to Likud and will remain so," Gallant stated.

During a press conference on February 28, Gallant emphasized his belief in victory but stressed the necessity of extending the terms of conscript and reservist service.

He highlighted that the ongoing conflict underscored the importance of sharing the burden of military service across all sectors of society.
