On Monday night, Jerusalem District police apprehended eight suspects for their alleged involvement in supporting terrorism and disseminating posts inciting terrorist activities on social media platforms.
These publications included expressions of support for the October 7 massacre and admiration for terrorists and terrorist organizations.
In recent days, a total of 17 suspects linked to these offenses have been arrested in Arab neighborhoods within the capital.
Among the detainees was an individual who had posted photographs of terrorists, including his relative Karim Qawasme, responsible for a knife attack in the Old City of Jerusalem approximately two years ago, resulting in injuries to two policemen.
Upon searching the suspect's residence, law enforcement discovered posters affiliated with the Fatah terrorist organization, praising Karim Qawasme.
It's worth noting that the police have recently intensified efforts to combat individuals disseminating messages supportive of terrorism and inciting violence driven by ethnic animosity.
To address this issue, a dedicated investigation team has been established.
