For the first time, the IDF press service has released recordings of phone conversations involving two UNRWA employees who were implicated in the October 7 massacre. Both individuals are teachers at UNRWA-owned schools.

In the first recording, the militant, employed as an Arabic teacher at the UNRWA school in Deir al-Balah, discusses breaching Israeli territory and mentions returning to Gaza with a hostage. He repeatedly emphasizes that a woman has been taken captive.

The second individual, who works at the UNRWA school in Khan Yunis, describes the situation on Israeli territory to his contact.

The IDF press service, in releasing these recordings, underscores that terrorist organizations in Gaza exploit civilian institutions, including hospitals and international aid organizations, seizing control and utilizing them for terrorist activities, thereby endangering innocent civilians.

Intelligence reports suggest that over 450 Hamas and Islamic Jihad operatives are also affiliated with UNRWA.
