Jordan’s official news agency says the country’s army and allies deployed eight airdrops over Gaza today, the largest such operation to date.
Humanitarian supplies attached to parachutes were airdropped in various locations around the Gaza Strip, including northern regions, from eight planes. They included three Jordanian planes, three US planes, one plane from France, and one from Egypt.
The planes dropped unspecified relief supplies, including food provided by the World Food Program.
“US C-130s dropped over 36,800 US and Jordanian meal equivalents in northern Gaza — an area of great need –allowing for civilian access to the critical aid,” the United States Central Command adds.
According to Jordan, there have been 43 airdrops over Gaza since the start of the conflict on October 7, with the majority of them carried out by Amman.
