Al-Akhbar: Israel gives Lebanon week to avoid war

The Beirut-based newspaper Al-Akhbar writes that while all attention is focused on negotiations between Israel and Hamas to achieve a "Ramadan ceasefire," significant diplomatic maneuvers are taking place on the Lebanese-Israeli border.

Amos Hochstein, a special representative of the US administration who visited Beirut a few days ago, presented a new peace plan to the Lebanese leadership, offering a solution to contentious issues, including the Shebaa Farms.

All parties are aware that progress on the Lebanese front will only be possible after a ceasefire is reached in the Gaza Strip.

According to the report, the Israeli leadership conveyed to Lebanon through Western intermediaries that they are ready to reach an agreement by March 15. If this does not happen, Israel will initiate a full-scale war.
