Ceasefire talks in Gaza to resume next week
Egyptian media report that the Hamas delegation will leave Cairo to consult with the leadership of the group. According to sources, negotiations will resume next week.
Hamas Politburo member Sami Abu Zuhri blamed Israel and the US for the failure of the negotiations. He stated his readiness to support a Security Council resolution, calling for even a temporary ceasefire.
At the same time, he reiterated that Hamas continues to insist on a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and the return of refugees to their homes.
An agreement between Israel and Hamas was expected to be reached by March 10 - the first day of the sacred month of Ramadan.
