Netanyahu's military secretary discusses humanitarian aid for Gaza in UAE
Gen. Avi Gil, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's military secretary, made a secret visit to the United Arab Emirates, where he discussed opening a new channel for delivering humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
The discussions revolved around opening a maritime route to deliver humanitarian aid from the UAE via Cyprus. According to the plan, the UAE will purchase the assistance, and the shipments will be inspected in Cyprus before being transported by sea to the Gaza Strip.
During the meetings, it was not decided who would distribute the humanitarian aid in the sector to prevent it from falling into the hands of Hamas.
The United States is pressuring Israel to allow the delivery of humanitarian aid by sea and to open another crossing point on the northern border with the Gaza Strip.
