Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened an inter-ministerial meeting on security matters to address the critical shortage of prison space for terrorists.

Netanyahu instructed the ministries of finance, defense, and national security to swiftly prepare thousands of additional beds to accommodate new detainees and prisoners.

This directive follows a meeting where the IDF and Shin Bet presented their assessment, indicating that thousands of terrorists are expected to be apprehended in Gaza, Judea, and Samaria in 2024.

Since the onset of the conflict, 4,000 terrorists have been detained, with the majority in Gaza. The IDF and Shin Bet underscore the urgent necessity to prepare for an anticipated influx of detainees and prisoners.

At the meeting, the Prisons Department outlined its plan for short and medium-term preparation.

Prime Minister Netanyahu endorsed the plan and instructed its immediate implementation.
