'Don't make mistakes': Gallant issues warning during Ramadan greeting
Defense Minister Yoav Gallant addressed Muslims ahead of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.
“The month of Ramadan is an important time when the Quran was revealed, offering an opportunity to strengthen neighborly relationships and family ties,” stated Gallant.
Gallant continued, addressing Palestinians, “We understand that Ramadan can also be a time of jihad (holy war against infidels). To those who wish to test us: we are prepared, so do not make mistakes.”
"I want to extend my congratulations and emphasize that the State of Israel respects the religious freedom of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and other holy sites. 'Ramadan Kareem' (generous Ramadan)," concluded Yoav Gallant.
It is worth noting that Gallant previously suggested that Hamas, supported by Iran and Hezbollah, aims to turn Ramadan into a continuation of the events of October 7. He warned that Hamas would exploit any pretext, particularly the situation around the Temple Mount and Jerusalem.
The Defense Minister also criticized coalition partners, without naming them, stating that any irresponsible statements during Ramadan could have far-reaching consequences.
He urged politicians not to provide Hamas and Iran with reasons for escalation, but rather to work toward calming the region.
