The Knesset Committee has approved the split of Gideon Sa'ar's New Hope party from Minister Benny Gantz's Blue and White party. The new party will be called Hayamin Hamamlachti, which means Statesmanlike Right.

Commenting on this move, New Hope MK Ze'ev Elkin stated that a very large public believes in the path of a nationalist-liberal statesmanlike right wing, in the spirit of the worldviews of former prime ministers Menachem Begin and Yitzhak Shamir. "From now on, these people have representation in the Knesset," he noted.

He also emphasized that Israel is beginning to "trod in place," and creative thinking is needed to change the course of the war, which the new party will strive to achieve.

Earlier today, Gideon Sa'ar announced his party's departure from the National Unity political alliance. The statement was made at a conference reviewing the results of the pre-election campaign for local government elections.

Sa'ar stated that he still respects his partners, but the representatives of the National Unity party in the war cabinet do not convey his voice or New Hope's positions.

Sa'ar announced that his decision to end the partnership with the Blue and White party was supported by Knesset members from his party. According to Sa'ar, the party has already appealed to the head of the Knesset committee to designate New Hope as a separate party.
